D710V Underwater Light for Gopro
The OrcaTorch D710V is an underwater light for gopro. It has three color in one white, red and UV.
Anyone who is familiar with the OrcaTorch dive lights will probably know the D710 torch, a small but very powerful dive light. The D710V underwater light for Gopro is based on that design and at a first glance, it is hard to tell the difference. Similar to the D710, the D710V uses a 5000 mAh 21700 USB C rechargeable battery in the backside of the torch. Watertightness in the connection to the light head is guaranteed by three O-rings; all similar to the D710.
The difference comes in the light head. Where the D710 has a narrow beam, that is obviously not what you need for underwater photography or videography. The D710V underwater light for Gopro produces a 120 ° wide evenly distributed white beam with its 2000 lumen LED. And it will burn on that level for one and a half hour. By pushing the switch once more, it goes down to 600 lumen white light on which level it will even keep running for just over four hours.
But that’s not all. Pushing the switch for a third time, it switches to a 125 lumen red LED, providing clear red light that is very useful in detecting critters without scaring them away. Finally, on a fourth push of the switch, the D710V underwater light for Gopro produces UV light which can be used at night to make fluorescence photos or video; a rather remarkable characteristic of some critters in the tropical marine environment.
For any underwater photography or video light, a stable connection to your camera is essential. For that, the D710V comes with the ZJ18 Ball Joint with which the D710 can be attached to your camera rig.
