Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between OrcaTorch 18650 usb-c battery and non usb-c battery?

1. The main difference between the OrcaTorch 18650 USB-C battery and a standard non-USB-C 18650 battery lies in the built-in charging port, which eliminates the need for a separate battery charger.
2. The OrcaTorch 18650 USB-C battery is 70mm length and the OrcaTorch 18650 unon USB-C battery is 69mm length. They are all compatibel with our dive lights, D520, D530, D550, D570 and D580.

How long does the battery last?

Battery life varies across different dive lights; for ORCATORCH dive lights, it typically ranges from 1 hour and 30 minutes to 2 hours at high brightness mode.

How should the battery be stored if it will not be used for a long time?

1. Remove the battery from the torch.
2. Charge to about 50% (not full, not empty).
3. Keep in a cool, dry place away from sunlight and heat.
4. Use a plastic case or cover the contacts to avoid short circuits.
5. Check every 3–6 months and recharge back to 50% if it’s low.

Can I use other brand 18650 battery for OrcaTorch dive lights?

Theoretically, this is possible, provided the battery dimensions meet the specifications of an 18mm diameter and a length of 65–70mm. Battery runtime may vary depending on the specific battery used. We recommend using our ORCATORCH-branded 18650 batteries, as their runtime is guaranteed.
