Orca Torch ZD710 MK2 Focusable Dive Light Independent Review

Here is an independent review of the Orca Torch ZD710 Mk2 Focusable dive torch by Mike Smith 4.10.25.

I tried it on a wreck at 70m in Malta and was very impressed.  It has one cell but probably puts out about 1500 lumen.  The beam can be focussed to 4 degree super tight right out to about 70 degrees.  The wide position is not quite wide enough to use as a video light but I can see this as really useful for giving to a diver to remotely illuminate an object to be photographed or videoed.  On the whole I can see this a a great quality and flexible dive light for recreational use or even technical use as a spot light or backup light.  On the whole -  very impressed.  Worth a purchase! A reliable and flexible use torch.

Pros:

  • 3 levels of brightness
  • Focus from 4 degree to 72 degree
  • Quite bright
  • Great as a remote diver spot light or general torch
  • Great build quality
  • Battery has built in USB-C socket for charging.

Cons:

  • Not quite wide enough for use a s a Gopro video light
  • Brightness struggles on wide spread if greater than 5m away
