Maintaining the O-ring for your dive light is crucial for ensuring its waterproof performance and extending its lifespan. Here are the correct maintenance methods:

Daily Maintenance Steps

• Inspect Before Every Dive: Carefully check the O-ring for cracks, deformation, aging, or dryness. If any abnormalities are found, replace it promptly or apply a thin layer of specialized silicone grease for lubrication.
• Clean After Use: Rinse the exterior of the light and the switch area thoroughly with fresh water to remove salt, sand, and other debris. If the switch feels sticky, a small amount of mild detergent can be used for cleaning, but ensure it is completely dry before storage.
• Apply Specialized Lubricant: Apply a thin layer offood-grade or silicone-based waterproof grease (high-temperature waterproof vacuum silicone grease) to the O-ring. Avoid using regular white oil or other mineral oils, as they can accelerate rubber aging.
• Avoid Contact with Chemicals: Keep the O-ring away from organic solvents such as gasoline, alcohol, and acetone to prevent corrosion of the sealing material.
